Interesting, But not a complete measure. What is left out of the stats in figuring this "Rankings don't really mean anything" is a very important component of the individual's accomplishments, namely the role of the player on her particular team. That is, how much she was required to or relied upon to do, or how much was she needed.
A highly ranked freshman may not accomplish as much statistically on a team with four other outstanding players as a "big fish in a small pond."

I see Bashaara Graves had a higher efficiency rating than the 1, 2,3, and 4 players ranked ahead of her. Looks like she was number one in efficiency rating and an unranked player for Oregon was number two. Graves was far more effective when Izzy was in the lineup her production and ability to get the ball fell off dramatically when Izzy went down with the injury. I think we can expect some huge years from her in the next three seasons.

IF TN can make it to the sweet 16 or farther Bashaara should get Freshman of the year, right?

Yes, there is a lot missing particularly relating to defense. It's also interesting to note how the players are perceived by others aside from the cold hard numbers. Graves is seen as a phenomenal player and Stuart's year is seen as a failure, yet in this chart the two are close. The competition has a lot to do with how a player does. Many a top rated player has been completely shut down by a skilled opponent. I guess the chart is best looked at as something to amuse ourselves with as long as it isn't taken too seriously.

It would be great to see her win this. She got an international vote from me!
