I am really impressed with UT's basketball program so far this year. I have been pulling for the Vols to win every game. I wish you guys nothing but success here on out (except against the Cats of course :D ). Good luck with the rest of the season and good luck to Coach Pearl.

I am very worried. The Cats ain't what they used to be. I think it will be home and home wins for UT and UK.

I have a special place in my heart for Kentucky fans, Baron. My father-in-law, whom I adored, bled Kentucky blue. I just can't hate Kentucky sports because he loved them.

I still miss you Dad.

Thanks Blue - I'm a UK fan (alum) as well but have to go for the Vols against the Cats.

I love the Pearl style - I'm still a Tubby fan but am beginning to seriously wonder about his recruiting program. I was there in the Pitino era and love the fast paced, jack the three style he, Pearl and my employer's team (UAB) play. Win or lose, the game is going to be entertaining.

If me and alot of other UK fans had our way the Cats would pull the plug and drain the Tub. His slow paced style ain't sitting to well with the majority.

I can see that. However, the team that lost to Marquette was one of my favorite teams of all time. I loved the blue-collar, lunch-pail mentality. Sweeping the SEC was no small feat. Unfortunately a key injury and Dwayne Wade derailed the team in the tourney.

Thanks for the post. Classy fans like you are always welcome 'round here.

We're impressed, too (errr. . . .most of us, that is) and are really looking forward to seeing what happens when Bruceball is combined with some talent.

Good luck to you, as well.

Nice way to start a thread, Blue. As a Gator fan, I'm really looking forward to games versus both UT and Kentucky. Since the FSU and Miami games right around end of November and xmas, the Gators have not faced much. I think the team will be pumped to play at Tennessee. Even more so when it is Kentucky, considering how much the 'cats have owned us over the years.

Blue:

You have "deck-plate leadership" qualities--good post. Hope your 'Cats get it together. However, get rid of the "sports psychologist" they mentioned/showed during the last televised game. They can do it on their own--stay at it and stay low!!

If the psychologist can lead the team to some wins he's not bothering me. Some attribute his presence to Tubby not being able to get through to the team... :clapping:

Just don't hype Tubby too much with the UGA fans around here. Tubby is still a sore subject for many of the Dawg fans out there.

Welcome aboard Baron! Good to hear your respect for our Vols...I think you may be right on the home and home wins this season although we can get one there also. UK will be back, I think your guys problems are more internal issues rather than lack of talent.

And I thought the fire Fulmer crowd was bad...Tubby has owned the SEC and has a ring..no way you can get rid of him for one bad season...come on bro!

Welcome aboard BTW! :devilsmoke:

If I hyped Tubby it was an accident... I wouldn't do it on purpose!

I actually like Tubby and think he's a pretty damn good coach.

Hiya! Welcome to the board. I always want the Cats to win unless they are playing the Vols.

Half of my family lives in Lexington and they are in the "Drain the Tub" camp. They don't like his style of play.

hey blue what is the problem with your boys. kentucky is no longer a powerhouse. i was wondering is tubby's seat getting alittle hot.

Welcome to the board. Talked to a loyal Kentucky fan yesterday, she said and I do agree that the players are the problem not necessarily the coachs this year. Her opinion is that the players are playing "ego ball" and griping about not getting the ball enough.

A sport psychologist might be the right answer for a group of highly talented players like those at Kentucky.

They now have the fire Tubby Smith website... Alot of people aren't happy that he's not lead the Cats back to a Final 4 since '98. High expectations for alot of schools sure, but Kentucky is expected to compete for the title every year. Tubby may not be the whole problem but he is the biggest part of it IMO. He should be able to control his players. If the sports psychologist can help them win games that's great but he shouldn't have been needed in the first place.
