Saw this on Hogville.net. Wonder how high the bid will go. :dunno: As you can see he is aiming it at Bama fans. He just put it on E-bay a few minutes ago. The way I see it, the higher it goes, the more we are loved. LOL I will have to check in from time to time just to see.

Where is the humor in that VH? The originality of showing CPF with KK is amazing! Where do they think this stuff up? I realize you're probably 6'3" with the bronzed body of a greek god but all these fat jokes need to stay in bammer land. :disappointed:

Fulmer looks like Karen Carpenter when he's standing next to John Chavis.

How can you not laugh at the Fulmer pic?

I do not want him fired or any of that drivel junk, but the pic, for what it is, is very funny.

:biggrin2:

P.S. I am only 6ft and a quarter, but I am the rest of the stuff you talked about! :dance2:

Actually I am 6'3" and weight about 195. I would not compare my body to a greek god but I'm in a lot better shape than most 35 year old people that I know and I don't shop at the Krispy Kreme. Obesity in most people is a product of laziness and lack of self discipline. Take from that what you will. :post-20645-1119625378:

I know it's worked well for me. :post-20645-1119625378:

It did for me too when I was in my first couple of years of college and had unlimited access to the feeding trough known as the cafeteria, not to mention Domino's bringing large pepperonis to your dorm room for $5.00 a piece. Eventually you have to start taking care of yourself though. If not for you than at least for the people who depend on you.

Or maybe it's because he an OL and told to be as big as possible. Or maybe he has a pretty stressful job requiring long hours. Or maybe, given the choice, he would rather spend time with his family. I don't know many who would classify any college football coach as lazy or undisciplined. It's an off-the-mark generalization.

So that's why 99% of the cfb coaches you see at least look somewhat athletic? If you respect yourself you don't let it go like that. If you don't have respect for yourself then you cannot expect anyone else to respect you.

Sounds like he may be a liberal/democrat. *See above remark.

Back on topic, it boils down to self discipline and respect. No other way around it.

P.S. If we are doing the height and weight thing, ala Dan Patrick on the Dan Patrick Show on ESPN Radio, I am 6ft and a quarter at 190.

I was 165 in the summer, but I have been trying to add mass and power to the ol' frame.

That's more of an insult than you could know! :biggrin2:

To simplify it, there are different body types. It's not all genetic but there are physiological reasons why some are bigger than others. The size of a person has very little to do with their respect for themselves. By your reasoning, the only difference between a QB and an OL is the desire to be smaller? Those 340 lb guys have no discipline and no self-respect? I stand by my above remark.

And before you ask, no I'm not fat but big, 6'2" 220 lbs.

I am talking about the goofballs who are on Dr. Phil and Maury because they weigh over 500lbs because they cannot stop eating.

I am not talking about a football offensive lineman who weights 300lbs who is in better shape than I am.

Lets be practial............ :birgits_giggle:

VH - my wife is a dietitian/nutritionist and she will be the first to tell you that those charts are out dated and antiquated - there are more factors to it than what they calculate for.

My girlfiend is a registered dietician with a master's degree in the field and she says these tables are still accurate. The food pyramid is what they changed. I think there probably are a lot of practicing dieticians and some physicians who will tell people who are obese not to pay attention to these tables because they do not want to demoralize paying customers. Fat is fat. We all know it when we see it. You can't hide the chub unless you want to walk around in a mumu 24-7.

At the least I would say there is disagreement among professionals on the validity of these tables.

That said I am about done with this thread. I have nothing against anyone who is overweight and I would do what I could to help someone get their weight under control. Most of us are not very good self-starters and we need the support and encouragement of others to make major changes in our habits-behavior.

I think I'd get in trouble for posting that if she ever saw it even though we are all supposedly anonymous around here but she does exist and she is an RD. However, I did just call her back on this and she says the height-weight tables are a good tool for a quick assessment but there can be a lot of variance for age, activity level, and illnesses.
