An awful comedian delivers an awful attempt at humor. Who could see that coming?

Perfectly valid point of view. He might be wrong, but there is plenty of reason to question the theory in the current economy where there is a lot of value seen in hoarding cash.

No need for "tax breaks" to create jobs. Obama said today he was really going to focus on job creation...

What was one of his key plans? Extend payroll tax cuts because in his words if people have more money then they will spend it...wait a minute.

What don't you all get tax cuts do not produce any jobs, demand produces jobs and since the top 5% cannot sustain an economy by themselves you might start worrying about producing jobs and not just any jobs Haslam and his boys have jobs and if you are lucky you might make 18300 a year full time. I know alot of you all think the deficit was the reason for the 2010 congressional election but I did an average of the polls and by a 29 point margin more were concerned about jobs and the economy than they were about the deficit.

The poor and the middle class spend these small breaks they get in taxes.

The wealthy ship it overseas.

3% tax cut on 250K salary is about $7,500 bucks. I am just throwing out 250k because that is the magic number where all dems "publicly" state tax raises should happen.

Some people will take that 7500 and invest. others might buy a new Omega or a new purse for the wife or take the family on an extra vacation.

All 3 options above are possible scenerios and all 3 put money back inot the economy immediately and gets a state sales tax placed ontop of it.

Not sure why this theory is so tough to understand.

I do not intend to be confrontational at all by asking this; serious question.

Why did we have the severe recession and loss of jobs with the tax cuts the last 10 years? Even with the bursting of the housing bubble, why didn't it keep unemployment lower if tax cuts alone truly create jobs? Please don't answer with the it kept unemployment lower than what it would have been reasoning as it is the same argument many have vigorously disputed when the same claim is made in regards to the stimulus package.

I have said I would be 100% in favor of tax breaks for reinvestment in US based companies that create jobs here at home. I am not completely convinced that a tax cut off the top with the hopes that those that receive it will use it to create jobs is doing the trick. We are not and have not been creating jobs at a significant rate.

Will listen to anyone's answer on this. Thanks.
