I don't remember that one but it was not uncommon. Tthere are lots of interesting stories if you get the right guides around here. A guy I work with does it on the weekends in Yorktown and works on the excavating when they find new sites. The most interesting history is sometimes about what they choose not to print

He sued for ownership or something (as I recall, I didn't read the wiki), and the courts recognized the slave as his property. The distinction is that he was the first legally recognized slave owner.

Absolutely ridiculous campaign point. Everybody on earth, from all races, can trace their lineage back to slaves (somewhere). I guess one slave ancestor who had no impact upon a current person's life is more important than a slave ancestor of another person. Crazy world we live in.

Oh by the way, let's not talk about anything relevant to future policy on the campaign trail. Let's just try to one up one another's slave ancestry in hopes of grabbing some more votes from America's dumb@$$ electorate.
