Tennessee wrapped up its preparations for Saturday's SEC opener at Florida with a less than spectacular practice effort. Head coach Phillip Fulmer said mistakes are still too numerous for such a big game.

"We got through our Thursday practice and that's about all I can say," Fulmer said. "We had too many things happen today. It wasn't awful but it wasn't a good day overall.

Well that cheered me right up. Let's hope they got all the mistakes out of their system so they can play the perfect game in the swamp...

I'm calling "Coachspeak" on this one . . .

Are you going to include this in your "The Psychology of Fulmer" book?

I just can't imagine what the benefit would ever be for a coach to walk off the practice field before a big game and say "We looked flawless today."

He also went on to say, "I think we're just tired of practicing and we need to play. We've been at it long enough to know that sometimes you have these days and they play great, and other times they do everything right and go play poorly. It was OK, but not nearly what it needs to be."

I'm actually encouraged. They're bored w/ practice and they are gonna play like the real deal holyfield when the lights come on.

Let's just hope they play like the 27 year old Holyfield and not the 40 year old one.

Two weeks between games will either make you rusty or anxious to bust somebody's ass. I'm going with the latter. Nothin' better than taking it out on a Gator in the Swamp. Gator shoes and luggage works for me.. :matrix:
