Does it change your perception of the front 7 if it looks like this:

DE: Maggitt DT: O. Williams DT Saulsberry DE: Vereen

LB: Weatherd LB: AJ LB: Reeves Maybin

Depth at DT is then: D. OBrien, J Williams (he's played there some) Sawyers, Carson, J Robertson

Playing Maggitt consistently at DE gives us some flexibility w Jordan Williams and a line I'd consider better than last year barring injury.

Note: McCullers wasn't very good IMO

Thoughts?

He essentially said he had made it on twitter yesterday or the day before. No official confirmation though.

Conceptually I really like that line up. However, it does still leave us with little experienced depth at DL and LB. King and Bynum have some experience, however some of the FR (Bates, Creamer, Johnson) might have more overall talent. I also think our secondary will be greatly improved over the past few years.

Exactly. They'll hold up and be average, maybe on par with what we saw last year, but the offense is where we will be a different animal. A large orange animal.

I'm not being argumentative, and I obviously hope you are right, but the questions around the QB position alone make me think that expectations of some offensive juggernaut may be misplaced.

So OP, you're projecting Mosley at OL?

Heard Hubbs say yesterday that Mosley has to get his weight way under control and be committed to being very disciplined with his diet and nutrition to have any chance to play DT. He then said he suspected that eventually winds up on the O line.

340 to 350 should be the goal

pretty much agree, I think too it is less about the actual weight that he has and more about how its distributed. (muscle vs body fat) He could come in at 350 or 355, as long as he gets his body fat under control.

Maggitt and Vereen play the same DE don't they? Aren't both "Leo's" or rush Ends?

I don't see the questions at offense at all. We started a true freshman and a junior who played in a totally different system for the past 2 years. The most improve happens between year 1 and year 2. Not spring 1 and season 1

Think the DL is going to get beaten badly initially. They may be much better later in the year but the schedule is strong out of the box and I am not feeling good about our line's status early on inthe season. And then injuries could change it all quickly. We are underestimating the competition against a squad that is VERY green.

How could you leave Hendrix out of that list? What about Malik Brown and Kendal Vickers. Aren't those two DL Jones brought in last year? Any word on them? I believe there will be one or two name emerge this fall that nobody is talking about right now. I think both lines will be better than expected.

I understand your concerns, but with defenses not being able to simply worry about covering North, I think even Worley will look much better with the talent he has to throw to.

Brown's gone...Vickers has been recruited over.
