Frost is on a mission to steal Adrian Martinez to Nebraska?

It's better to lose the whole class than to hurry and end up with a guy who isn't going to win anything and put us back in the same situation a couple years from now.

Oh well. I expect this entire class to get some really serious offers after this s**t show. And by the time signing day gets here, I expect well over half of the ones committed at the peak to sign elsewhere. Especially the EEs.

Yeah, I expect Phil to move way too slow and totally botch the early signing period for us. I really hope he proves me wrong, but I don't foresee much effectiveness in the hiring process.

At this point I would encourage kids to look at schools that have some stability in place. Unless they truly love UT and want to be a part of another attempted rebuild, there is much safer and better opportunities for many of them.

Yes, I would like them all to be here, but fandom shouldn't blind these kids from making a wise decision that will determine their future. At this point, the road to the NFL is much harder when you are playing for a team in rebuild then it is for a team who is currently contending. I can't blame them for looking elsewhere and honestly, it would be foolish not to considering everything UT is going through.

Martinez seems to like Tennessee. I think Phil will keep the relationship until someone is hired.

At this point I’d rather take the hit on the early signing than to rush and panic and get another Dooley.

While Vols search for coach, Nebraska's Scott Frost is trying to steal QB commit Adrian Martinez

I believe if we don’t get something someone by Monday, we are going to lose a lot more than we have in recruits!:thud:

Lincoln Riley out of OU wants him too. We're not coming out of the pit anytime soon. Watch Fulmer not even give Leach a 2nd look. The game is evolving. We need to move on with innovative and creative coaches. That's why Fulmer was let go before. I'm afraid he's gonna try and sell us Miles while we have a shot at Leach. Martinez and Leach would work good together, imo.

It's better to get a good coach before the pickings are down to high school coaches, and before all our current recruits are gone.

I am not one to panic in these situations, but we have already lost an opportunity on so many good coaches, including Frost, that we are already down to mostly leftovers.

We may be forced to go with Tee, which is not ideal. Not saying he can't succeed, just should be nowhere near our first choice in normal situations.

I get that we want to make sure we are making a good choice, but we have known we need a coach for a long time now. I know Fulmer just "started" yesterday, but absolutely no need to wait til next Saturday to make the necessary calls.

Pretty sure we are going to wish that we hired Mullen, Frost, Leach, or Brohm when we had the chance.

Not worried. Like our other QB commit equally.

While I don't disagree with your last sentence, it's just as likely that Leach wouldn't recruit him because he already has other qbs in mind.

Explain to me how ANYBODY wins anything if we lose a whole class? We have to get a coach, and he has to salvage a good class.
