Got arrested.

He was charged with battery on a law enforcement officer and resisting arrest with violence, according to the processing officer.

Don't know any details besides that.

James Wilder Jr., a sophomore running back for the Florida State Seminoles, has been arrested after attempting to prevent a law enforcement officer from arresting his girlfriend, Bianca Carmada. He was charged with battery on a law enforcement officer and resisting arrest with violence, according to the processing officer. Carmada was being arrested on a warrant for failure to appear on a charge of criminal mischief.

Sources tell Tomahawk Nation that Wilder allegedly grabbed his girlfriend away from the deputy as he was trying to arrest her and then slapped the deputy's hand. The deputy did not sustain any bodily injuries.

Wilder played sparingly as a freshman as he attempted to learn the playbook and become acclimated to the system.

Florida State's policy is typically to suspend those charged with a felony until the case has been resolved. Sources tell Tomahawk Nation that Wilder does not have a prior criminal record.

Might not stick as a felony, but very stupid on Wilder's part.

Pretty dumb to ever put your hand on a cop while he is arrresting someone. That isn't ever going to end well. His girlfriend had a small charge on her anyway. Should have just let her get arrested and walked away. She would have been out soon anyway. The actual act of slapping someone's hand away isn't a huge deal, but it is stupid to touch a cop like that because things can escalate quickly and it could have ended alot worse. JMO.

Definitely not... Prob dropped altogether

Agreed. A he said he said on the intensity. A slap usually won't show marks. It's a waste of that charge and It's an emotional situation. No prior charges. Hopefully he learned from this event though.

Charges will be probably dropped or reduced. Such is the life as a star Collegiate athlete.

A dropped charge in this case has nothing to do with who he is. It has everything to do with a young man who has no record going against a weak charge of he said he said.

lol - "slap" on the hand - which was likely a light push and get a felony/battery charge. What a joke.

Can probably get a battery charge for breathing on a cop if he doesn't like you.

Georgia fans are about to pile in and say dude should be locked up because he hit the officer. If he hit the girl then let the legal system play out, and it may have been deserved as well.

Wilder was a guy that the gators recruited really hard. If he had got there, the cops would have also found a bag of green in his pocket.
