of time before D1 FB goes to a play-off system. He says that with the continual increase in gas prices, college FB will have no choice but go to a play-off system to save college FB from losing massive amounts of revenue. He says that with rising gas prices only the BCS bowl games will draw enough attendance to stay in business; that all other bowl games will lose their shirts. Also says that only the elite regular season games will draw the sell-out attendance thus causing schools to lose large amounts of revenue. In his opinion, this will bring about the play-off system that the majority of fans want to see.

If gas prices rise to the point where people don't want to go watch college football I'd say there will be some much more important things to worry about than the BCS.

That's a very good point.

gas prices won't drive a playoff system, I don't care who says it.

Do you have a link to this interview?

do I really have a reason to have more belief in gas prices being 2 dollars a gallon in 18 months than gas prices are going to drive a playoff system in college football?

I have less than 0% belief in the gas playoff thing. Some may think that's impossible, but I do.

Ohhhh, you were being facetious. I didn't catch it, sorry. Please disregard my post before my last post.

You said it with such confidence.
