Clemson guy on a forum I frequent seems to think this could happen in the offseason.

Why would they have voted to up the exit fees to 20 million a few months ago if they were planning on jumping to a new conference, one that seems way less stable than the ACC.

They look less stable but if they snagged all three, easily more stable than the ACC. Duke, North Carolina, North Carolina State, Wake Forest, Boston College, Syracuse, Pittsburgh, Virginia.... which one of those schools impresses you as a football school? Texas Tech in past years has been better than all of them and they're still not very good. Better than all of the junk listed though. The Big 12 conference down is still better at football than the ACC. If they steal all of those football schools, they're now number two behind the SEC.

To the topic: No, it's not happening

And it'd make no sense at all for the big 12 to just suddenly jump to - of all numbers - 13 teams

...and have those new 3 teams be all on the east coast at that

Their program had a 14 million dollar profit. You think they want to add all the travel expenses for their sports teams ? They couldn't afford to build a concession
stand, much quality facilities. Not gonna happen. Texas will tell them where they can play and who...lol.

Texas should clean their own porch before they go whining about another one.

Yeah, I think 10. 12 - 2 (Colorado/Nebraska) - 2 (TAMU/Mizzou) + 2 (TCU/WVU). Unless I forgot somebody.

Yes there are 10.

And currently the more realistic rumors were opening talks with BYU and...I forget the other, don't think it was louisville though

None of these have really had terribly much backing though, more just that the big 12 is likely the only conference that'd allow BYU to keep their ESPN television deal revenue without a split

However, the big 12's also happy at the moment that they can have a 9 game schedule AND have it be a full round robin as well
