With the NCAA upholding their originally enforced penalties against FSU, does UT stand to gain anything in the world of recruiting?

Saw on ESPN that every sport involved in the cheating scandal would lose scholarships and be placed on 4 years probation. When will this take place, immediately?

Anyone with solid info, give us your take.

Wont have much of an effect on us. We started self-imposing scholarship losses in 2008 and the NCAA added an additional year in 2011. After next year that will be over.

What about the probation?

Is it known how strict the probation will be? If it prohibits bowl play for 4 years, what is the point of going to FSU?

This won't help us out at all, honestly. FSU began imposing these scholly reductions and the only thing that would happen now is the "official" losses from the aforementioned games. They are past it, and from the looks of their recruiting, on their way back up. All that said, I'm all for FSU and Miami being as good as possible. Florida hits their stretches when these teams are down, and when they are good it puts the hurt on Florida more than anyone, so that helps us out in a way...

It should have little impact on recruiting in general, unless there are bowl consequences which I don't believe there are.

The only thing left I believe is to uphold the original ruling and take those wins away from Bowden.
