Ft Hood shooting "suspect" can't cash his checks

What's so ridiculous is that his lawyer is acting like this guy is an upstanding person. Screw him, he killed 13 brothers in arms. I say turn him over to the military. Let us decide fit punishment. He can't be kicked until found guilty. That's why he's getting paid but he will pay all that back in punishments from the military after trial.

how would you expect his attorney to act? If the guy half steps on the defense then he leaves open more avenues for appeal and lengthens the process.

I understand the reason. But couldn't they fire him in a sense with a dishonorable discharge?

Obviously I don't know how that works, but I'm thinking if my employer knew I was on the hook for the shooting deaths of 13 employees in the workplace, they'd cut me loose within seconds.

Yep. It's bullstuff, but once you start changing regulations one a case by case basis, a bad precedent is set.

Yes, just because he is charges with a crime, does not mean he cannot cash his checks. It's not like he can use the money to buy a plane ticket and escape.

He is given an opportunity to refute the charges against him, again, ridiculous, but those are the regs.

again, the legal process has to be completed because we have that little "innocent until proven guilty" problem with our American legal system.

The only schmuck who needs the money is his lawyer. If he can't find a way to cash it he ain't that good.

Is his lawyer a JAG, or a civilian one? Also, it looks like he will use this to get the trial moved to a different location.

Since I'm sure he has ties to banned people or countries on the list all banks use, that gives them even more of a foot to stand on.
