Check his stats vs Scottie Lewis instead of just complaining about JJJ. You missed the point in your rush to jump his case.Vescovi, maybe, but he was only here half the season. Completely understand why JJJ didn’t make it, he didn’t deserve it. #22 freshman in the country my ass.
I could be wrong but I’m pretty sure these awards are based solely off of the SEC season. What you did before doesn’t matter. In my opinion, Vescovi should be in over Pippen Jr and Scotty Lewis. Without Vescovi, this UT team wins maybe 5 conference games. Maybe.Vescovi, maybe, but he was only here half the season. Don't bring reasonability into this discussion, Chris.Check his stats vs Scottie Lewis instead of just complaining about JJJ. You missed the point in your rush to jump his case.
Scottie Lewis: 8.5 pts, 3.6 rebs, 0.8 assts
Josiah James: 7.4 pts, 5.5 rebs, 2.9 assts
Both were modest scorers, but JJJ has more well-rounded stats. Either guy would have probably been the last pick on the all-Freshman team, and a case can made for Vescovi over either one.
Scottie Lewis was ranked the #7 overall recruit in that same class, btw.

Both kids were in bad situations. Scottie had to deal with whatever internal issues UF had. JJJ thought he was going to be the third or fourth best player on a team with 3-4 veteran leaders. At the start of the season JJJ was hurt, there was one veteran leader who was only half himself, and there was only one other player (Pons) that had elite level skillset potential.Glad you pointed this out. JJJ performed on par with his rank much more so than Scottie Lewis did.
