I see alot of people opine that Fulmer is worth keeping around becasue he is a great recruiter. Well, check out the latest recruiting rankings.

Two of our division rivals are in the top 10 and we are nowhere near the top 25. I am not sure that I want Fulmer out but I do not think he is getting the job done on any level (recruiting, character development of the student athletes, or coaching) at this time. Maybe I do want him fired?

Recruiting rankings mean very little at this time. Tennessee has never been a school that receives a great number of early commitments. I'm pretty sure you could pull the October recruiting rankings from any year and find that Tennessee gets the bulk of their recruits after the season ends.

How many of those fence riders are going to fall our way if we are 7-4 or 6-5? I am starting to worry about the future of our team as well as the present.

Didn't really hurt us in '02. Recruits are more concerned with playing time and facilities. The really good ones are certain they can turn a program in the right direction. Look at the freshmen Penn State brought in this year, after more than one lousy year.

That is depressing. I do not want to go through a slump like PSU has had.

That's not my point. I'm simply saying that the previous season doesn't necessarily doom recruiting.

I agree with you in principle. The problem I see is that we have gone to national recruiting. I think alot of those kids out west are not even going to be thinking about UT if can't stay in the Top 15.
