According to this article at $1.65 million (before the raise) Fulmer is the SEC's highest paid coach. Is that right? I didn't think he was the highest paid in the SEC but I guess I am wrong.

Not only is he the highest paid, but with Steve Spurrier and Jackie Sherrill gone, he's now the longest tenured (11+ years) coach in the SEC by a long shot. I think the closest to Fulmer would be Houston Nutt.

In this day and age of coaching changes, it's pretty unbelievable to consider that Tennessee has only had two head coaches in the last 26 years. I can't think of another SEC school that has had less than 4 in that same period.

Sorry for the nostalgia. It's been 2 weeks since I've seen a game and I just watched my old 1990's "Decade of Dominance" video. It brought a tear to my eye watching Pickens, Harper, Morgan, Price, and Flemming catch everything that went in the air. I had forgotten that we were so deep at receiver that Carl Pickens was the DEFENSIVE MVP of the Cotton Bowl his Freshman year!?!

I love watching those videos sometimes. Isn't is amazing how those teams always seem so much better when you look back on them? Maybe it's because those are "highlight" videos. :dunno:

Pickens was no doubt a special player. I was just thinking about how good he was the other day when I was watching the Sugar Bowl against Virginia on CSS. I wondered what ever happened to him so I did a little digging. He signed a 5 year deal with the Titans in 2000 but only caught 10 passes. The next year he ended up in Dallas and ended up retiring, apparently due to a recurring hamstring problem.
