Saw on one website FootballCoachScoop.com that Fulmer had interviewed at Kansas and that there was a mutual interest.

also saw that he will interview twice for U of L... makes you wonder.

Here comes all the 'witty' fat jokes. I'll haha in advance.
My thoughts exactly. Kansas must have more all u can eat buffets than any other school in the country. They pay their coaches in donuts. A prerequsite to getting that coaching job is you must have the dicky-do's.

I feel like this would be a bad hire for Kansas. How is he going to recruit out there?

Sounds like a good job. Based on Mangino's enormous stature, can't be too much walking to it. Phil will like that.

Actually a good fit. Anybody that wants or needs wins is a toug fit. KU loves some 7-5 seasons.

At least they can recycle their jokes.

I'd be surprised if Fulmer took this job. He'd have a hard time outrecruiting or beating Texas, Oklahoma, Nebraska, etc. I guess he wants the same results he had lately at UT without as much scrutiny.

Yeah both of those would make much more sense to me. Solid, familiar recruiting grounds and it wouldn't be as hard to win in either conference too.

Fulmer never actually struck out on the midwestern and northeastern recruiting trail, and Kansas is just as close to that as UT.

Tuberville to Notre Dame, Fulmer to Michigan - CBSSports.com Message Boards

There are two storied programs that have been struggling with bad coaches, and neither one can afford to have the same coach there in 2010. Notre Dame and Michigan are probably the most prestigious programs in the history of college football, which is why it doesn't make sense that they are having so much trouble finding someone to lead their football teams. Especially Notre Dame, who has not had a good football coach since Lou Holtz.

The only way that these schools get out of the basement is to hire some coaches with fire power, and these two guys are what they need. Tommy Tuberville would be a great coach for Notre Dame, and Phillip Fulmer would bring talent back to South Bend, Michigan. Holding on to Rodriguez is a terrible move, but hiring him in the first place was the biggest mistake. They went for name recognition as opposed to a coach that enforces the traditions of the Wolverines. And Chuckie Weis, forget about it. With the talent that he has had at this school, he was a disgrace, and proved that he should not be a head coach for ANY school.

The smart thing is to hire these guys by the beginning of 2010. Give them an early start to recruiting, and they will be back to 9-3 teams by year two. If these coaches remain at ND and Michigan, watch your program stay in that unflushed toilet for the next few years.

Fulmer to ND? That would be funny.

He could maintain the status quo established over the last 15 years. 3 or 4 good years marred by many 8-9 win seasons.
