Seriously, the man has accomplished a lot at UT. I would be shocked to see him run out. What do you folks REALLY think? Is his job really in jeopardy?

I don't think that his job is in jeopardy at all. I do think that some of the position coaches will have some sleepless nights though.

I agree that fulmer's job is secure for now but some of the position coaches are in trouble :bad:

Now.....no.

3-5 years from now with the 3-5 more years of this?......yes.

Name me one coach who has remained in this league after finishing 3rd or worse for more then 3-5 years?? You cant cause there isnt one. Fulmer is going to suffer the same fate that they all did.

We are losing 7 senior starters on offense and 7 senior starters on defense. We realistically got 2 at least 2 more years of the same.

Fulmer is in no way in jepardy. Now some of the assistant coaches......thats as different story. Fulmer would have to consistentl be worst than we are now for the next 3 or 4 years to get fired. He's done way too much for this program to be let go so quickly.

All these bammer fans and gator fans come on this board trying to encourage us to keep Fulmer.

All the UT fans would have loved for you guys to have kept zook and dubose, but you guys decided you would rather compete for championships.....

UT has more loyalty to their coaches then any program in the sec. first it was majors who coached for 10+ years, now its fulmer with 10+ years. In the past 27 years UT has had 2 coaches. Thats its. Alabama, Georiga, Florida each have probably had 4 or more.

CPF is about $10 mill removed from trouble.

That is the rumored size of the buyout in his latest contract.

UT would never buy out his contract, even if we (gag) finish 5-6 and out of a bowl game (the Doomsday scenario - maybe I jinxed it with my post a few weeks ago).... but I think he would need to win at least 8-9 games next year to hang around.

Fulmer's gets raise, contract extension
Tennessee Head Coach Phil Fulmer's having a pretty good 2005. His team trashed Texas A&M in the Cotton Bowl on New Year's Day. He just won the mythical recruiting national championship. And now his wallet is a little fatter to boot.

Fulmer will get a raise & a one-year extension, boosting his salary to $2.05 million through 2011.

Fulmer's base salary rose from $275,000 to $325,000. He gets $800,000 for being on radio and television shows, an equipment and apparel fee of $625,000 and $300,000 for endorsements and appearances.

Fulmer would get $37,5000 for going to a non-BCS bowl and $250,000 for winning the national championship.
