I'll say this. He figured out what his QB could do and adapted. Shuler, Shaeffer and Martin ran different plays than Peyton, Ainge, and Clausen did. Most impressive was that we were competitive with James Banks at QB.

Jones has his system and obviously Worley is not right for it. But if his system takes this long to figure out, we are a long ways from competing.

It's easy when you can run it 70% of the time, play field position and lean on a defense.

Yes. Yes. Yes. Because a redshirt freshman QB, who was not good enough to beat out Worley is the best we have for next year, then we expect a true freshman to come in and get it all down in Year 3? Are we pointing to actually being good again in Year 4? Does any of this sound familiar?

if only qb was the biggest problem

Qb is biggest problem, but not by much. Our O-Line is mediocre at best. Our RBs are below mediocre. Our WRs are young. Our DBs couldn't cover a twin size bed with a king size spread. And thus far, not really impressed with the play calling. But yes, Qb is biggest problem. Oh well, the season is still young and maybe, just maybe, things will turn around.

We must remember that the "game has passed him by". That was one of the main reasons he was fired......right???

What is there to explain? QB is a problem, but it's about 5th or 6th on the list behind the secondary, Linebackers, WRs, the running game etc.

I think Jalen Hurd, Todd Kelly, and Dillion Bates solve some of those problems. **fingers crossed**

The zone read offense is not complicated for the QB esp considering the two freshmen ran the zone red or a version of it in high school. Heck Id say at least 50% of high school's are running the zone read offense.

I remember the position being a cluster fu** both in 2005 and again in 2008. When Clausen went down in 2002 for a couple of games, it was the same result. In 2000, it took us 6 games before we had a QB that could compete at this level.

It's all about talent gentleman.

QB is the biggest issue. Great defense could not overcome QB problems in 2005 and QB play is far worse this year.
