Tired of being negative, so I thought I would look for something positive to post about.

Assuming that Foster remains healthy for the remainder of the season and the bowl game.... does anybody think he can even get close to 1000 yards rushing? Before you laugh, look at the upcoming schedule.

Notre Dame gives up 119 yard per game (4.02 ypc)
Memphis 138 (3.72 ypc)
Vanderbilt 152.1 (4.29)
Kentucky 190.4 (4.53)

Foster just rushed for 148 yards against South Carolina in his first start of the season. The 148 yards represents 88% of the total yardage that South Carolina gives up per game. Using that stat, we get

ND 105
MEM 122
VAN 134
UK 168

That puts Foster at 814 yards heading into the bowl game. However, if Fulmer goes ultra conservative... Foster only needs to average 21.5 more yards per game to be at 900 yards heading into the bowl game. That puts 1000 within reach. So, just for fun, how many yards do think he'll end up with?

I hope I am wrong but I think he will be limited as the cellar dwellers stack the line against us. The lack of a run game when alot of fans were touting Riggs for the Heisman at the onset of the season has been very frustrating. I hope A. Foster proves to be as valuable to the squad as Chuck Webb, Reggie Cobb, Jamal Lewis, James "little man" Stewart, Travis Henry, Travis Stephens, Cedric Houston (you get the point) have been.

South Carolina stacked the line and he still rushed for 148. He looked really good at times against Alabama's defense too. What I like about him is that he does not go down on the first hit.... like Riggs does. He seems to hit the hole faster than Riggs too. Alot of the times, the hole closed before Riggs even got there. Don't get me wrong, Riggs is just as good this year as he was last season (check the stats), he just hasn't gotten alot of breakaway chances this year like he did in the SECCG.

As for how many yards he gets, I have no idea. It depends on how tender his knee is going to be from here on out. My guess would be somewhere in the 700's to 800's.

Foster has looked much better than Riggs from what I have seen of him. Not only does he shed the first tackle and hit the hole as you stated, he is good at anticipating where the hole is going to open up before it's actually there. He also kind of has Jamal feet, they're always moving.

He's going to be a good one for us if he can stay healthy and hold on to the ball.

SC is very weak against the run. If the passing game can start clicking a little, I think he can easily hit 800. I think this guy is going to be a stud for the next couple of years.

The Arian Foster stat watch is now at 2 regular season games remaining and...

Foster has just passed Gerald Riggs as the Vols leading rusher this season. He has 542 yards on 117 attempts (4.6 avg).

He has started 3 games this season and rushed for 405 yards in those games. He is averaging 135 ypg when he starts.

Vanderbilt is now giving up an average of 161.8 rushing yards-per-game and Kentucky is giving up 204.4 ypg.

So, if Foster gets just what each team is giving up, he'll finish the regular season with 909 yards rushing. He's still on pace to finish with over 1,000 yards if the Vols go to a bowl game.
