Right here in East TN we have a human trafficking problem, with both adult and child victims. The convergence of Interstates 40 and 75 along with familial abuse means we have more victims than resources to help.
My wife’s organization puts on an annual fundraiser called Unmasked, where we dress up in costume and do a silent auction for various goods. All proceeds stay right here in our community and help fund victim services.
This year, we are competing in the costume contest and my wife is suddenly the most competitive person ever. Every dollar helps, and one dollar equals one vote. We are Brittany and Patrick- Kermit and Miss Piggy.
