Tebow Time? Sure. After last week's dramatic comeback, football fans have been anxiously waiting for Tebow to turn in a complete performance. To play at a certain level for four quarters. That happened this weekend. Instead of playing like the worst quarterback in football for 55 minutes, he did it for 60.

I hate that he played for the Gators, but I do like Tebow and admire what he stands for, and I hope that he can succeed somehow in the NFL. I doubt that it will happen, but I hope he can.

I try to be very realistic about these things. Yes Im a big Tebow fan, but right now it is clear that he does not have the skills he needs to be an NFL QB.

HOWEVER, I think with a couple years to develop, that he can become a good NFL QB. But he really needed to go into a situation where there was a QB already in place and he was just competing for the back up job for a while.

Bad situation for him right now.

As much as I can't stand Florida, there is no reason to not like Tebow. He's the most likeable player the SEC has had in a while. I hope he finds a way to succeed.

the only thing (other than being a gator) that i dont like about tebow is all the talk about "being a winner". colt mccoy won more games as a started, we didnt hear about him being a winner. McElroy won his fair share of games, no winner label.
not to say that tebow doesnt want to win and doesnt give his all, but i find it hard to believe that he really tries any harder than the vast majority of ncaa or nfl players.

McElroy wasn't the star, and McCoy has 1 Big 12 Title, and 0 National Titles. That's probably the difference. Peyton Manning was the winningest QB at some point wasn't he? He wasn't widely respected as a "winner" like Tebow. Manning had only 1 SEC title and 0 national titles. Also, if Tebow had red-shirted like McCoy, he would've had 13-14 more starts and might have that record.

i understand that, but i just think the whole "winner" arguement is a bunch of hooey. people have been on the tebow band wagon simply because he gave a speech after a loss and because he tries hard. i think that ridiculous and am sick of hearing about how awesome he is, when although he was an amazing ncaa player, is subpar at best in the nfl.

All I ever heard the commentators say about McCoy was, "This kid's a winner".

but then when it came time to draft him, they were talking about why he wouldnt make it, and he fell in the draft. tebow being a winner has been all over the media, and he has become a fan favorite for absolutely no valid reason, and im just sick of hearing about it

and when i said why he wouldnt make it, im talking arm strength etc. but tebow's awful throwing motion was pointed out, but then overruled with the "he's a winner" arguement. with mccoy, it seemed the facts overshadowed the wins arguement, but with tebow people seemed to ignore everything but the winner arguement

There was also a lot of cynicism regarding his injury in the National Championship game. After that game, one in which many people thought that he took himself out because of a mere stinger (disclaimer: I think he was probably seriously injured at the time), all talk about him being a "winner" and a "fierce competitor" disappeared.

yeah, you have some good points, maybe mccoy wasnt the best comparison, but i still feel that the "winner" label is ridiculous.

"Draft experts" and commentators can be ridiculous sometimes. Andy Dalton and "has there ever been a successful ginger qb?" Anyone?

Except fondling boys from third world countries and being a pompous assbag that taunted fans before reading bible verses.

No amount of time, or prayer will ever turn him into an even decent NFL QB.
