If you are not prepared to endure the agony of supporting a losing program for at least the next five years you should just give up on UT right now. The problems that we have now are years in the making and it will take years to fix them. Do you really think the coaches can "lay down the law" with the players in Knoxville now? Many of these kids probably came here because they do not want the strict discipline and they heard that CPF is a "player's coach" who lets the small infractions ride. Try to tighten the reigns and see how fast half our roster transfers. This team has a disease and everyone is infected. We will have to completely cycle through most of the guys who are now on the roster before things get significantly better. In the meantime, the coaches are going to have to try and keep the current players from contaminating the recruits. How will they do that? I am not sure that they can. CPF is not a complete idiot. He knows where this ship is headed. Look for him to milk the $2 million a year for another year or two and then bail out (if he doesn't get sacked before then).

Anyone who understands sports knows that these things run in cycles. Nobody is going to be on top forever, and the opposite is true. Tennessee might turn it around quickly, but if not then I wouldn't be suprised if it took a few years. I do think there is too much invested in this program to see it go to hell.
