I know a lot of people are discouraged as I am and think the effort against Missouri was pathetic and unacceptable but if you are as passionate and care as much for the football program as you say then show up at Neyland stadium for the next two games.

It is imperative that we win 2 of the next 3 games to get to a bowl. Not only will this give the team extra practices and an extra game but will also allow the EE's to practice during bowl preparations.

If you care about this program be part of the solution not the problem cause your either with us or your against us.

Agreed.

I think we will play Auburn tough at home, but it isn't do or die. Vandy is. If we beat Vandy, then all we need to do is beat hapless Kentucky to qualify for a bowl game (although Kentucky actually looked good versus Alabama state this weekend, a team that gave us fits).

When did we play Alabama State?

Even the almighty Nick Saban went 7-6 his first year

On January 3, 2007, following a meeting with Dolphins owner Wayne Huizenga, Saban announced that he had accepted an offer to become Alabama's 27th head coach .[26] On January 4, 2007, at a press conference on the Alabama campus, Nick Saban was officially introduced as the head football coach of The University of Alabama . On September 1, 2007, his Crimson Tide opened the season with a 52–6 win over the Western Carolina Catamounts, scoring more points than during any game in the 2006 season. Saban became the fifth Alabama coach since 1900 to start his first season 3–0, earning a win over then-ranked No. 16 Arkansas Razorbacks.[27] Alabama ended the regular season with a 6–6 record, including a four-game losing streak, a particularly humiliating loss at home to Louisiana-Monroe, and a sixth straight loss to Auburn in the Iron Bowl. The Tide defeated Colorado in the 2007 Independence Bowl, 30–24, to end the year 7–6.

We will be back on top soon.........VFL

I would be very happy going to a bowl this year, because with our roster and our schedule... we really shouldn't be! It would be a big victory for Butch and his staff.

Also a glaring bright spot on this post is the OP's avatar, which I always enjoy.
My toga is expanding at an increasing rate!

Yep, we really need a different analogy.

Maybe we could use Jim Tressel or Pete Carroll as examples some of the time?

Jim Tressel's first year at OSU: 7-5
Pete Carroll started out 2-5 his first year at USC.

I am not ready to go over the cliff just yet on this team or Josh Dobbs. We had a bad game against a top 10 team. The OL and DL laid an egg for whatever reason. Dobbs had 3 turnovers and Smith dropped a sure TD pass. But we are depending on these 2 freshmen and others to win games for us. Yes, Mauk is a RS Freshman but he was going against the UT defense and not Missouri's.

For the second week in a row, we got blown out by 2 top ten teams on the road, but only allowed 10 points in both second halfs. This tells me that the team didn't quit, but were just overmatched and didn't execute when we had to. The penalties and lack of run blocking by the OL and the poor tackling was our downfall.

I believe we can bounce back for the next 3 games and win at least 2 of them. We need for guys like Tiny keep the trash talking to himself unless he can back it up.

Any Vol fan who can come to the next 2 games & doesn't because they're mad or discouraged doesn't need to call out the coaches, team or players for not giving their all because they, as fans, sure aren't! I drove 12 hours each way to watch the MO game & I didn't like what I saw, but my butt will be in Neyland Stadium on Saturday & vs Vandy!

GO BIG ORANGE!!!

The future of the program is in better shape than it has been in 10 years or so. We have been in decline for a long time.... Give Butch time. He is hungry and a winner. remember Rome was not built in a day.
