For a position long a second thought in the Tennessee offense, Heupel has brought a new dimension to the offense with emphasis on the TE as a playmaker. Fant was a Swiss Army knife LY. Warren, Castle & Davis gives him 3 great options this yr.

Future TE room has sick athletic potential with Davis, Okoye & Echols already together. Forget covering these guys with safeties or OLB.

Heupel is extremely creative and adaptable. If there is a way to squeeze more points out of this offense by utilizing the TEs, he will find it and implement it

Is there any expectation that Castles will be able to fill Prince Fant’s role? From the practice videos he looks to be a more compact, h-back type where Warren has the frame of your traditional, Luke Stocker/JasonWitten TE.

I think Okoye could be a bigger version of Fant.

He’s 6’5 251 lbs and a more noted receiver than Warren. Where do you see “compact”?

The position is very thin right now but the future looks bright. TE is a position we can't afford any injuries

Georgia’s Brock Bowers, a legitimate freak, should impress upon everyone what a weapon an elite Tight End can be. I’m sure Heupel paid attention. He probably has it all schemed up already.

Tight end "Room". I wanta know who started this Room bidness. (I think some NFL guy) Attempt at clever, not so much. It was always Running Back GROUP. We all know what a room is; in the house. Just a pet peeve, from a Traditionalist. I'm LIKE over it........lol

By his senior year, if Okoye learns and develops in the position, I could foresee him forcing defenses to go to their dime package, just to prevent Okoye from being covered by a LB.

'Cause Okoye + LB = TD ev-er-y-time!

Because they each have their own meeting ROOM.

It's not because we're traditionalists... it's because we played at schools that didn't have a 50th of UT's sports facilities!

I agree and love the potential with these guys athletically but its a largely unproven group to be calling them great options as of this year. Warren didn't even score a touchdown last year and the rest of those guys have either never played a down of college football or if they did it was at the FCS level which is a far cry from the SEC.

With that said, if anyone can get great production out of them immediately and develop them quickly its Josh Heupel.
