Future Tee and Jamal

The future is definitely bright. Jalen Hurd will be a beast at RB, something we having had since Jamal Lewis. Dobbs showed a lot of promise today against a great defense. The fact he didn't get rattled, ala Peterman, showed me a lot. I love having a mobile QB. Fits the system CBJ is trying to run.

But, but, but Jalen Hurd is waayyy too tall to be a running back. He needs to play safety or tight end or OLB cause he's too big and only guys 5'11 and shorter can play RB in college.....

Why can't Dobbs be a future Peyton? Racist IMO 😊😁

Because he's not like Peyton.
He's not like T either. T was more like Heath Shuller in his playing style.
At a glance I still say he's similar to Tony Robinson. Good passer and more illusive than T or Heath.

When I see people compare fast/running QBs to Tee Martin, it makes me wonder if they actually watched him play.

He was a pocket passer who possessed decent speed and would use it when he had to, and only when he had to(which was usually near the goal line, had quite a few rushing TDs). He averaged all of 3 yards per carry over his career, never eclipsing 4 ypc in a season.

Those were bc of sacks. If you look at his yards gained from the line of scrimmage it's a completely different story. Dobbs runs about a 4.7. Martin ran a 4.5 and was very fast running north/south. Wasn't as elusive as others with his speed.

Perhaps you missed the well-covered story that prior to today he wanted to get RF and JD another year of maturity and a redshirt. If you have a freshman QB who can be good for you, doesn't it make sense to preserve a year of eligibility for when you have better athletes to play with them?

No. If your best QB is a true freshman and gives you the best chance to win, you play them. End of discussion. The idea that you would compromise a season to preserve a redshirt is a terrible strategy.
