Now I know we have a lot of people here who are too young to know much, first-hand, about many of the players who were Lady Vol heroes back in the days before Instagram and Facebook and Snapchat even existed, but FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, please make an effort to commit to memory the correct spelling of one of the State of Tennessee’s most beloved sports figures, the former Kellie Jolly, now Kellie Jolly-Harper.
Kellie Jolly came from Sparta, Tennessee, to play for Pat during THE heyday of Lady Vol Basketball, and graduated as one of the most respected players who ever wore the orange and white. Tough as nails, she is especially beloved for having come back (probably too soon) after ACL surgery to lead Tennessee to the second of her three consecutive National Championships. The toughness Kellie showed was unworldly, and Lady Vols fans were absolutely STUNNED by her brilliance at the end of her career.
So please, if you feel you are capable of learning only one thing this year as a women’s basketball fan, please consider making that one thing the name Kellie Jolly-Harper.
