Arkansas offensive coordinator Garrick McGee has verbally accepted an offer to become UAB's coach, a source told ESPN Saturday.
No official offer has been made, a source close to the coaching search told the Birmingham News on Saturday, though Arkansas coach Bobby Petrino issued a statement in the morning congratulating McGee on landing the job.
McGee is a former Oklahoma quarterback and Jacksonville Jaguars assistant. McGee, who also coaches quarterbacks, is in his fourth season with the Razorbacks and is a finalist for the Broyles Award, which is given to the nation's top assistant.
