No offer from Georgia seems odd
Nah.
When you look at that state in most years, and definitely in 2024, they are loaded at safety. There's possibly 6 guys just in Georgia ahead of him at safety. Not to mention UGA recruit strong nationally.

Also this kid is a bit of a tweener.

He looks like a future ILB. He doesn't move like you want from a safety at the high end of P5. He has a teammate that IS a top 50 guy that plays ILB, and Heard is playing in the same area of the field many times in his highlights next to him.

I 100% disagree with your last paragraph. This kid looks like a stud saftey. The reason he is in the same area as the ILB is
1. Coverage responsibilities. Your saftey will almost always take over coverage from a ILB when the Wr is declared vertical (10 yards). The ILB will carry ther vertical threat to 10 and pass him off to the saftey. They play on the same side of the field so at 10 yards theyvare roughly in the same spot.
2. Some of the clips they are playing a run heavy team so he is the extra box defender for the run game. When defenses are out gapped by offensive formation you have to move your pieces around to be gap sound. He is a hard hitting saftey that is the size of your average high school ILB so he is the extra man in the box.

All good points. Yes they were playing against run heavy teams.

So he's 200 lbs muscle now with a solid frame. 6'0 seems legit too. This kid is going to be a 225 lbs man when he's 19. But even as 200 lbs man now, I don't see the agility of even what UT has at safety now. Much less UGA. All of our committed safeties in 2023 seems more athletic than him imo...

His play recognition shows from his safety spot. He's very good at reading where the running lanes develop and he under cuts them.

Regardless, I think he'd be a great addition in 2024
