I don’t want to overstate it but if this board had ANY idea how hard those guys are working y’all would be legit shocked. Once I learned the miles, hours and sweat equity they are putting into our success I had to go all in on backing them as much as I could.

I would hope that at this point the NCAA just moves on to other programs. The leadership here is no longer going to be intimidated and allow us to be viewed as a soft target.

I think we’re finally seeing what it’s like to run the race without being held back. UTAD with great leadership, right fit coach leading with a great culture, fans supporting NIL, and no more looming NCAA issues that were used against us for YEARS.

Their latest is the proposed NIL clearinghouse, where they would have to approve NIL deals “to protect the student athletes”. Using the Jaden Rashada debacle to justify it but anyone who’s followed their history of academic clearinghouse knows they tend to slow foot and redtape when enabled, and effectively kill what they don’t like. We come to a deal with a prospect and have to kick it up to them to yay or nay? Just taking their time gives another (preferred) program the chance to sneak in there with a similar deal. It’s an end around. The SEC should squash it before it hatches.

Hopefully, their efforts yield a strong trajectory and future cycles will be easier as we move in with the higher historical leaders in base consideration. We have come out of a deep NCAA induced hole, but should be clear of that now. Having sexy lead dogs is a huge plus.
