'18 GA LB JJ Peterson (Tennessee signee)

My question is, with D.Taylor most likely being an OLB, do they have Phillips / Kongbo drop weight to be an OLB or add weight to be a DL?

In an interview, Pruitt talked about his style of linebacker being a “four for four” player. Meaning able to play all four linebacker spots. Dont’a Hightower one of his examples. I think Peterson and (hopefully) Walker man the inside linebacker spots on most downs and rush the passer on the outside in special packages.

From Bama rivals...

Peterson will give Alabama a final opportunity to recruit him this weekend. The long-time Crimson Tide lean committed to Tennessee at the U.S. Army All-American game after Jeremy Pruitt became the head coach of the Volunteers. It will take a lot for Peterson to flip his commitment because Pruitt was the main reason he favored Alabama.

Kongbo looked good at DT when he played there a year ago. Imo he made a mistake slimming back down to play DE and the old staff is at fault for allowing it. It will end up costing him $ at the next level

Totally agree, and I just shake my head at him training to be a jack lb.

Who knows? But he seemed to be better when he accepted playing DT at the end of 2016. I just don’t think he can play in space. Seems like he has his mind set on OLB though.... smh

Has there been any info other than a video of him training as olb that states his mind is set on that? Seems like people are just assuming based on that one clip. We'll probably find out in spring how true that is.

He's just an example of a freak athlete with a low football IQ. Would be a Malik Jackson style (not caliber) of inside lineman if he committed to bulking up. Kongbo's bullrush is a nightmare for a guard or center.

Then he should love Bituli. He's one of the few we have that could probably play both.

I think this move to a 3-4 will be perfect for Kongbo. He gets to still think he's playing DE, while really he just becomes another DT for us.

Yeah, that tweet is all I’m going by.
