JJ Peterson's host this weekend in TTown is Ben Davis. Who has yet to see the field for anything meaningful which means Saban has probably thrown up the white flag on JJ.

When we have big recruiting weekends Saban usually puts leader types with the big targets. M Wilson with Walker, Tua with J Ross, and etc. B Davis has struggled and many suggests he is having a hard time making the transition to the college game. If you trying to reel in a kid you really want, especially someone committed elsewhere who said we still have a chance to build a relationship seems odd you would put a non leader and non starter with him.

If your logic is correct them why ask him to host period? I think you are thinking of this from a simplistic viewpont.

Not odd if you look at other factors besides talent that coaches have to consider when recruiting a player. One of the biggest is the ability of players to academically qualify. High School GPA, ACT and SAT test scores etc. I know for sure of a couple of instances where kids wanted to sign during the early signing period, but couldn't due to not being cleared academically. Sometimes the hangup is something simple, like a missing test score or HS transcript, while other times it's more challenging.

If JJ is as close to Walker as people say. This could end up back firing on Saban

Never heard anything about Walker having academic concerns. My understanding why he has been flirting with other programs while committed is because he wants to see the field early. Then Pruitt left gave him another out.

Walker had the opportunity to sign in December but held out. We only had one we did not let sign due to grades but it looks like he had a great semester. But again this according to our sites.

Well Tidefans probably not the best place to get info from. UA wanted JJ but when Pruitt left we were no longer in the picture plain and simple. Anyone saying something different is being foolish. Does that mean he may have grade issues I do not know but there has been nothing out there at least from our guys he seem to be in the know to suggest that and he had the opportunity to sign in December.

Not talking about Walker regarding academic issues. Petterson may have some work to do though in that area. Sometimes these things get worked out in time, however with the new 25 player signing limit, coaches are going to do everything possible to make sure the players they recruit will qualify before they let them sign. Bama had BJ Edmonds in 2015, Georgia had Wyatt in 2016. Georgia has one signed recruit now that was unable to early enroll due to an academic issue. It's suppose to get worked out by the May-mester but some of this stuff is in outside hands so it can get dicey. This stuff arises every year around this time.

Good thing for you guys that Peterson was never a get. It was Bama or us. You had no chance...so he’s stupid. :)
