There are exactly zero UGA fans that are decent posters on VN. HG is a good UF poster and TW is a good Bama poster. Very few other rival posters that aren't giant bags.

That Montana poster was the best.

I wasn't on here in 2011 so I don't recall. I'll give you a chance to present your evidence.

That is not true. Fadeproof is one of the classiest posters on this board, including the majority of Vol fans. Problem is he only comes around during Georgia week any more.

Isn’t a poster on here named SCtiger, who is an AU fan? Seems I remember him being pretty classy, too.

I currently reside in Chapel Hill but still have a house in Asheville(north). So Morganton is an easy drive for me. When up there I prefer head waters of the French Broad in Rosman or hit the Tuck in Sylva. Sometimes go towards Boone and Cherokee with their expensive day fee to fish trophy fish I only go to Smokemont. I like the Laurel more in the winter and then will cross the state line into TN and fly fish for small mouth on the Chucky. They are very hungry this time of year and the water will move fast with snow run offs. We also camp a lot in the Smokies during the summer and like to fish near Townsend. To be honest anytime I can get in the water is a great time.

Man, ive fished Tuckaseegee several times with no success, in whittier. That river! is bassackwards. Love the French broad in HS! its got it all. never know what im gonna hook. could be greenear, bluegill, hornyhead, brown, rainbow, cat, 20" smallmouth. ****. ive seen a mounted 14-15" laremouth that weighed over 3lbs with all the crayfish in his belly.

If you're in Rosman, go to the Orvis dealership there. App Broad and Mills (in certain areas), are good for Tiger Musky. The dealer has a 25+ lber mounted, they caught on a fly.

guy i know in erwin, lives off Noli. he shows me pics. i know where they are, but, never really fooled around with it. pretty sure ive hooked one once, that or a gigantic catfish. dude shows me pics of Tigers he's caught - some damn monsters.

personally, i'd rather shoot for a 5-6 lb smallmouth.

Yeah. He can be a little pretentious but is a pretty good poster most of the time.

The pattern is that no rival poster (in the RF) that is tolerable is from UGA. Just an observation.

On the Tuck you want to fish near WCU off of S River Rd to the bridge heading towards Webster. As long as you know the water release schedule you can wade a lot of it. What is great there is the shallow parts are in the middle so head there and cast towards the deeper runs on the banks. From the middle to banks on either side is 50 to 60 ft or greater so you can move around. Plus that is one of the major stocking areas for the trout. Dillisboro is not bad either for the Tuck but not nearly as good as near WCU. Plus when up that way there is a smaller creek called Caney Fork that his excellent to hit.

Another fun place during the summer and we try and camp there at least once is Deep Creek in the forest. Just have to go past the 1 mile marker where the tubers start after that you can fish 5 to 7 miles upstream and back down. Just down the road from Whittier and you can also fish Forney, Nolan, Hazel, and Eagle which all feed into Fontana. Fast fishing, hit a hole a few times and move but a lot of natives and near where they dump into the lake no telling what you might hit. I was fishing one them near the lake with a 3 weight fly rod and hooked a large mouth and was afraid I was going to snap the rod. Took a while but got him in.

Here in Tri- when there was a Lake - you could spot fish schooling largemouth chasing Brook Trout fry, at opening of Watauga. its a helluva float - but, if you hook one theyre fun.

the real action are Stripers that run that way. dont ask me who hut, some guys will foul hook a trout fry - run a parachute line below the bridge. 😳 some fish are 40-50 lb class.

course, i grew up on the lake there. only stripers i saw in person were floating belly up.

If ive got time. I hit the North Fork. no one fishes it. and it has the largest average size smallmouth in VA. please dont tell anyone so the secret stays - just that 😬 one of Lefty's fav rivers. its freestone so...they havent developed bad habits like the trout.

There used to be a Clemson poster who I seem to recall being decent.

I think that was the Auburn guy that was mentioned earlier, but I think you are correct. I think he was a Clemson poster and not a Barn guy.

I fished the N.Fork for many years. Good friend had family there on river road. One time I couldn't cast because of a broken thumb so I got up on the road and "spotted" for him. He ended up that day with 1 - 6+, 2 - 4+ and several more over 3. We were using gold shiners that day, sunny in mid-OCT. Usually with shiners i'd use any small crnkbait or a 3"grub in early morn all summer long. Best smb water in the world once you learn it and get permission.

man id love to float the N Fork but, im lazy and dont want to spend 6 hrs in a boat.

sounds like you had a day.

ive caught a couple 4-5 lbers on Holston, proper.

and missed many more than i care to mention. one on a homemade sculpin imitation in early spring. thought i was hung up. other lunker on a homemade concoction, upturned wire hook, bent hook shaft. horizontally cut zonker hair, over glass bead head, silica legs and a lead eye for weight. worn out spring Brown's with it too.
