From Rivals:
CARROLLTON, Ga. – Until the pen has hit the paper on a National Letter of Intent and the paperwork has gone through the fax machine, any college football recruit is fair game.
Florida State has four-star 2024 running back
Kameron Davis firmly committed, but Pac-12 and SEC teams are trying to narrow the gap in hopes of swaying him away from the Seminoles.
There’s been a lot of teams reaching out making heavy contact with the state of Georgia prospect. The group includes Georgia, Georgia Tech, Tennessee, and Colorado. Some of those communications are panning out in the form of upcoming unofficial visits.
“In March, I do have one set up for the 25th to Tennessee,” Davis said. “I am trying to get to Colorado and LSU also.”
The
Volunteers are letting Davis know he is a priority. “Their coaching staff is always in contact with me; I do want to show them some love and get up there and check out their atmosphere,” Davis stated. “I don’t want to limit any opportunities or cut any communication with coaches right now.”
New
Colorado defensive line coach Nick Williams hailing from Alabama is a commonality both are rallying around as a recruiting rapport is being built. “I do have a great relationship with coach Nick Williams (DE),” Davis said. “He is from down south; he understands what it takes to maintain a healthy body and what it’s like to get out of the mud with Auburn and Georgia.”
Heading to
Baton Rouge will be a bonding and learning experience for Davis.
“Coach (Frank) Wilson (RB), I feel like he is a great guy,” Davis shared. “He’s a native of Louisiana, I want to get down and meet with him and check out what LSU brings to the table.”
Davis will return to
Tallahassee March 10-11. When he’s there, he will be doing some recruiting of his own.
“I’m trying to get some big dogs; I’m not going to say any names out of respect for them, but I am trying to get some big dogs,” Davis said. Davis continued talking about the recruits he is after answering if any of them might be close to committing, “Oh yeah, I have a couple of guys coming up for visits. They are really considering Florida State, and they already like Florida State. I try to recruit the best guys. I am letting those guys know that Florida State is a great place. Every school is great in its own way, but I think Florida State is great all around.”
Outside of an expected official visit to Florida State, Davis is wide open to his other four possibilities. “Right now, I don’t know,” Davis stated. “There are a lot of schools, first I have to try to narrow down which schools I know would be a great fit.”
