'25 GA WR Travis Smith (Tennessee commit)

Yall happy now? 💪🏼
Are you a relative? We have only had one relative poster of a recruit/player that has turned well. It generally doesn't go well because we are turds sometimes and the first time a player drops a pass or misses a block there will be idiots that bad mouth them.

Feb 19, 2024...

The UA Camp brought a lot of stars out, but Smith ranked as the No. 5 overall performer, according to On3.
"Travis Smith looked to have the best combination of size, functional movement skills and consistent hands among the wide receivers at Under Armour Atlanta. The Atlanta (Ga.) Westlake standout was a smooth operator on Sunday. Looking to be around 6-foot-3.5, 200 pounds, Smith has a ready-made build with plus length. He impressed with his ability to get off of the line, stacking defensive backs with his releases. Smith is a polished route-runner, effortlessly dropping his weight to change directions and break off defenders mid-route. He also flashed arguably the smoothest ball skills on-hand, plucking the ball away from his body throughout the day. Smith will need to continue adding to his top gear in order to consistently separate vertically, but his overall skill level and size stood out on Sunday."
Travis Smith Jr. Has Big Day at UA Atlanta Camp

WR Travis Smith...is a special playmaker. Press or off coverage didn’t matter for Smith. He dominated both coverages. He thrives on the physicality of the DBs and uses it against them. Smith is a pristine route runner that is great at creating separation. He is known for high-pointing the football and rising over defenders for acrobatic catches. An underrated part of his game is the fluidity in his footwork and movement. Despite being 6’3 he can move like a slot wide receiver and torch DBs. The best part of his game on Sunday was his releases off the line. Within the first two seconds of the route in 1-on-1s, he had the defensive back beat off the ball. If that continues, he could be in for a dominant 2024 season.

Brian Maurer’s handler claimed he was impartial and a Vols fan regardless of who played QB. I told him when Maurer left Knoxville we’d never see him again. 😏
