Tony Basilio interviewed Robbie Andreu, long-time columnist for the Gainesville Sun yesterday on his talk show. The full content of that interview can be read at: The Tony Basilio Show. Noteworthy comments include the following:

(1) Florida's biggest problem right now "is that they can't cover anybody in the secondary."

(2) This week's game is "a bad matchup for Florida . . . because for Tennessee, Worley is playing really well right now. He looks like a future NFL quarterback to me and he's going to be throwing against a secondary that is busting coverages all over the place. So, if he gets time to throw, I think he's going to do a lot of damage."

(3) Florida's defensive line hasn't "put a lot of pressure on anybody and I don't know if that's going to change. And if they don't, it's going to be very difficult for that secondary which has lost a little bit of confidence I suppose."

(4) In response to a question wherein Basilio hints that Andreu is predicting a Tennessee victory, Andreu states: "Yeah. I do. Worley is really throwing the ball well and they are definitely getting better. Tennessee is heading towards being very good and I don't think Florida's reached that point yet."

Their John Adams. :glare:

Like John Adams, sometimes he just tells the truth and it hurts if you have a hard time accepting the truth.

There wasn't anything written that is even disputable and he didn't even have to mention the florida offense

Florida still wins because "we're the Gators damn it. ESPN hates us and no one shows us any respect. They will have a chip on their shoulder. I like being in the role of the underdog."

Y'all know the rest

Considering how strong Florida has been, historically, on the defensive front, I was surprised somewhat by his remarks pertaining to a lack of pressure on opposing quarterbacks. However, they are tied with us, LSU and Ole Miss, among others, at 67th nationally, with 2.0 sacks per game ( Team Sacks | FBS Football Statistics - NCAA.com).

Fowler is the real deal, but he's not getting any help

You can't put Like and John Adams in the same sentence unless it's "No one sucks like John Adams"

florida will come out swinging and if we survive their first 3or4 punches we will have a chance to win.

He's spot on. Florida's pass rush isn't impressive. And their secondary is so weak that the only way they're going to stop UT's passing is by getting Worley on the ground. If Worley stays upright, UT wins, and does so comfortably.
