Thinking about going down for the game this year. For those that have been before, any recommendations?

Seconded. Not all UF fans are bad, but there's enough who are that it's worth avoiding.

I’ve been three times and have never had any issues. Parking at the mall and taking the shuttle is pretty easy if you don’t mind standing in line for a bit after the game. We never stay in Gainesville, usually make it up to Valdosta, GA.

Remind me to go with you next time I have the inkling. I've had nothing but terrible experiences in that God-forsaken hell-hole.

Been at least half a dozen times and have only had a few minor issues. Just be respectful. I will say though I would absolutely not park a vehicle with TN tags or UT stuff near campus on gameday.

This. We all know humidity in the south, but it's like Gainesville takes it to another level and then CBS always throw you in it at it's worse, a 3:30 game.

I haven't been in quite awhile but I agree with bigorange - do not park near campus if your car can be identified as from Tenn. Don't stay overnight there - either drive back to Ga after the game or if you are flying and renting, drive back to Tampa or Orlando before flying back.
