I had never seen this before and was shocked.

I came across a link to this video on a Notre Dame website. The video was filmed by an Ohio State film crew as a tool for improving fan behavior. I hope it works. I've never been to any SEC venue where the fans even remotely behaved like this. It was a sad day for college football.

I have never witnessed a scene like that one at any SEC venue as well. That's the thing with the south, SEC fans are some of the most passionate football fans around but, at least we normally know how to show respect and good sportsmanship. At least the biggest part of the fans do anyway.

Okay drinking.....more drinking....drinking...yelling 4 letter words at Michigan fans....girls peeing in stairwells.....drinking....drinking.....litter...more litter...more litter....another girl peeing....(Ohio State Wins)....drinking...drinking...fight with Michigan Fan.....Drinking...Drinking....END

Man this is college, this crap goes on in college when there isn't a football game. Seriously those who haven't pissed in a parking lot or a public place you throw the first stones.

Anyway I don't agree with the physical stuff or the total trashing of Columbus but giving the other team a little hell? So what. Thats why it's HOME FIELD ADVANTAGE.

This kind of stuff will never change man, it's just how it is.

You know you can get on the internet and make fun of Florida, confess your total hate for them so on and such, but when they come to your town your going to welcome them? sounds chicken ____ to me.

I believe in sportsmanship, but when your about to play a hated rival, why not talk a little sauce? Don't get in a fist fight with them or anything.

yea and the sec is a bunch of ignorant rednecks, I have never seen anything even resembling that behavior anywhere before in a game atmoshpere. That looked like a riot and not a football game

Yes you welcome them. You don't have to give them anything, but you don't treat their fans like crap. Some of the best times I've had at UT football games is tailgating near a rival team's fans. We take jabs at each other, but when its said and done, we give em a beer and wish them good luck and tell them no matter what we look foward to next year. You don't have to love em, but the ohio state video was ridiculous.

Oh man I wasn't talking about verbally abusing them. I'm just saying make them feel welcome but not that welcome still let them know where there at.

I just have a big problem with people that want all the fans (home and opposing) to hold hands and sing a song of friendship before kick off. Trust me there are some out there, where I play ball and go to school it isn't D1 or anything but they have all these ridiclous kindergarden rules hanging up about sportsmanship, it's sad.

If I go to my school's basketball game and when an opposing player shoots and I say something like "Brick", or "hey man you building a house" seriously you can get removed from the gym. If you cheer against the other team and not for yours they'll do some crap like that. I blame it on the same people that want to ban the Worlds Largest Outdoor Cocktail Party. These bunch of PC goobers that want the world to be without traditions and be a big vanilla fest.

I used to work at Ohio State..........it is no different from other campuses..........the only difference is that the campus contains over 50,000 students.....

Same proportion of idiots, just a little more of them.

Am sure you would see alot of the same at Michigan. This is a heated rivalry on and off the field. Getting physical doesn't make it right no matter what the location tough.

Dude, from first grade and up, they are all total phychos when it comes to Buckeye Football. They argue they just have passion, give me a break. I really don't want to see this school win another championship right now.

I am going from my experiences working there. I worked with the football team and gameday when it was on campus.

Buckeye fans are crazy/passionate as any other team, from my experience, perception has become reality. i.e., burning couches, flipping cars etc.

burning couches isn't normal.

except WVU.
I guess burning mattresses is normal though? UT students burnt mattresses in front of Neyland after we beat LSU in 2005! That was an away game!

Also, when we beat Florida in 1998, half of Cumberland was shut down due to couches and mattresses burning in the street.

Let's list all that was wrong with the premise of the video:

It portrays that as the normal college football atmosphere in Columbus.

Did anyone care to take note of the date? 11/23/02! This was the last game standing in the Buckeye's way before the BCS National Title game. Oh, and it was against their biggest rival (a heated contest that has lasted over a century!)

Let's imagine that we did not have an SEC Championship game and that we were undefeated with one game left. Then imagine that final game was against a top 15 Alabama team and that it took place in Knoxville!

I imagine a film crew could basically replicate that video.

Also, does any one else think the fight scene was a little overblown? Not only is the Michigan fan on top of the Tosu fan, he continues to try to get back in the fight after he was pulled off the Tosu fan...
