Now that we're in to it... I just feel a strong compulsion to say, I TOLD YOU SO.

Those changes are not nor were they ever about "player safety" or the length of the games. Just as many of us predicted, the games run just as long as they ever did if not more. We just get MORE COMMERCIALS.

Essentially you supported the NCAA giving us LESS football and more non-sense.

They've been trying to shorten the game for decades now. So what do they do? Add a two minute warning. No one has needed a two minute warning in football since electric scoreboards were invented. What they do need is to sell more insurance and automobiles so I can keep watching football from my couch.

Pretty sure the number of ad slots have stayed exactly the same. The unexpected thing is that plays per game has stayed about the same … which is what most people thought was going to be affected.

Yall understand commercials allow you to watch the game for free. It also pays for the close-to-Billion dollar revenue share the team receive.

If commercials are an anathema for you, consider watching the game after Freak posts it...he cuts out all the commercials.

Watch for free? More and more of them are on the DISNEY pay properties, there aren’t more on the Over The Air channels

I feel the same way about long football games as I do long rounds of golf. People complain about them and I think “Exactly what else would you rather be doing right now?” lol.

What amount, if any, would you be wiling to pay on a "pay per view" arrangement to watch the game on the television provider you've chosen if that ppv purchase meant zero commercials?

Watching the Mississippi State game last weekend from the stands, the Redshirt TV Crew's digital timer seemed to start with at least 3 minutes for every TV break.

Yeah, just what I wanted! LESS football, and more commercials! Of course the only group of people responsible for college football today, the fans, get "thank you Johnny Shafto" when all is said and done.

It would be almost cheaper to go to the games then pay PPV prices. I worked with the ears company for many years.

their over the air properties are bleeding money and ESPN properties are only staying afloat by charging more for cable subscribers every contract and charging more for their streaming package every 6 months

If NCAAFB went to PPV you would be charged a crazy amount for the season package…….

I’m okay with most of the rule changes, but:

1. I do not in any way like adding a two minute warning to college football games. As many have stated, nothing but a money grab. I don’t like it in the NFL, either.

2. I really noticed the longer commercial break times, and they are too long IMO. They particularly suck when you attend a game and have to sit through them.

No they don't. A pretty modest increase in ad costs would have covered it while leaving us with 8-10 more plays per team each game. More football. Less commercials.

The SEC signed a media deal with ESPN that was FIVE TIMES LARGER than the old media deal but y'all expected the amount of commercials to stay the same or decrease?

Why?
Maybe for the same reason we don't like paying $1.50 for a candy bar that used to cost $.50 and weight 50% more?

If that's what their "deal" is worth then the ad minutes should support it. They made a calculation that us fools would accept it... and some of you very obviously do. Did you believe the lie that it was for player safety too?
