LVs will need to solve Ole Miss defense, says Cora Hall.
The Rebels rely on their defense, and they're third in the conference in scoring margin (+11.25). That's because Ole Miss has the third-ranked defense in the SEC, holding conference opponents to 62.2 points.
While Ole Miss has limited opponents' scoring overall, it consistently gets outshot from the field. Seven of its SEC opponents shot better than Ole Miss, and four of those opponents beat the Rebels. The most points Ole Miss has given up is 84 points in a loss to Alabama.... Only four opponents have made more than six 3-pointers against Ole Miss.

The Lady Vols have had a few high-turnover games recently, and they can't afford to do that against Ole Miss. Winning the turnover margin will be crucial to winning with the Rebels' strong rebounding.

Ole Miss has outpaced SEC opponents by 6.5 rebounds, and it destroyed No. 13 Kentucky on the boards 54-33 to upset the Wildcats 66-57. Tennessee has to keep the Rebels off the offensive glass in particular to limit second-chance opportunities.

The Lady Vols boast an impressive 52-9 all-time record against the Rebels, Blackbears, Landsharks, or whatever they call themselves this week in Oxford.

Ole Miss won last year. We are out for revenge and most of all to keep our strong close to this season going.

Sports fans this will not be a cakewalk in the park. The Lady Vols have to come ready to play and keep the paint well defended. You cannot take Ole Miss for granted or we will get upset. The Ladies can win this one but must keep the pressure on, protect the paint, and hit their threes at a good percentage. I don’t believe the Lady Vols will dog walk the Rebels but will come out with a win.
Lady Vols 82
Ole Miss 68

Ole Miss has a deceptive 29% 3PT percentage defense, not in the top 100, but their opponents have only shot around 300 threes this year.

Still, Tennessee is one of the most prolific 3 point shooting teams in the game, and I have to think they'll bring the rain tomorrow.

With Ole Miss and Tennessee being statistically tied at around 8 turnover margin ... just feels like we may have a bit of a barn burner on deck. Something will have to give.
