At least in this game, Brooklyn Miles won't feel about a foot shorter than everyone else on the court. She will be able to match up pretty well against MSU's front line. Hell, she could play a small forward position for them lol!

Can we win a Thursday night game?
Yes, they can win, they have to dominate the boards and play good defense against MissState’s guards. We usually have problems with quick fast guards (The Hayes girls are quick and fast) and they do have a couple. They are like ants at a picnic. Key will have to control the paint and make shots under the basket. We can’t have foolish turnovers.

Aislyn isn't much of a threat unless she's hitting from outside. It's mostly Annie and JerKaila Jordan that can hurt you off the dribble, plus Myah Taylor when she absolutely needs to. The biggest threat from MSST will come from their 3-pt shooting. If they are clicking, it will open things up inside for Annie to score on layups all game long.

She won’t be scoring layups over Key.

I can only feel better about this game because it is a home game. Game simply means that if we win were still in the running for homecourt first two games of the NCAA. It also clinches a double bye in the SEC Tourney which I figure we will get anyway unless Ole Miss can beat South Carolina. Scoring points is the biggest worry Horston was good for 17 and Green 8 so that is 25 someone else has to score for us to get to our average which is about 70. I'd like to think Key, Burrell, and Dye would all have big games cause that is what has to happen. This is a three point shooting team with a couple players that also have the ability to drive it. I'd rather give them ten twos than ten threes so we need to guard them close out there and hope Key can take away some of them drives. The team I am sure knows what this game means and will give it their best and bring their top energy. We know Miss St is no where near as good as SC so the same energy they brought there may be enough to win this one.

When you're concerned about ants, don't be leaving turnovers about -- apple or foolish.

Stats don't always tell predict the story, but FWIW, just on paper... only a slight upgrade at position. Still, no one I'd trust more than Kellie scouting what she needs from that position.
Jasmine Powell | Minnesota Golden Gophers | College Women's Basketball | Yahoo! Sports

I agree stats don't always predict the story. Minnesota has had some team turmoil and the cohesion hasn't seemed to be there and for a sophomore to be as productive as she was that's pretty impressive. I would imagine not having to be a primary scorer and ball handler would also help as well as teammates who get along with their coaches lol...

It also would be a P5 slight upgrade which some posters said wouldn't happen (kellie getting P5 transfers)...

I also agree i trust kellie and if she is getting what she is getting out the young ladies she has i can only be excited to see what she would do with a young lady like Jasmine.

Oh wow that's huge that she is looking at us! You know Rickea and her are from the same area of Detroit and same class. Not to mention they both follow each other on Twitter and Jasmine retweeted Rickea's tweet when she stated she was leaving the Miss. State program. There could be something there. Is it possible that both are thinking about coming here together?? I guess time will tell.

I know right. it's exciting times ahead! I would never say never to a team up and she and Jordan are friends and their moms talk on social media. Rickea, Jordan, and Zia Cooke (SC) took a couple of their recruiting trips together

Produces more assists than turnovers, which is good, but I'm curious if anyone knows enough about her to help understand the shooting stats? Is she an outside shooter or does she look for her points closer to the basket? Her stats for this year have her shooting 32% on 214 shots from the floor. Had a bit better result of 36% last year, apparently.

Her stats at Minnesota seem to be around what Walker is giving us, although she might shoot slightly better from 3 and the FT line. I haven't watched Minnesota much, but I have heard she has a good handle, which we desperately need.

Big Ten is much tougher conference than the one Jordan W. played in so their stat lines are not strictly comparable.
