Game Thread

That's a bit extreme. That Florida game took a lot of out of us. We didn't have the time to prepare for Arkansas. Our guys are tired and beat up and it showed today. They just didn't have that extra gear. We'll rebound from this like we have all season.

After today I don't think you shouldn't use the words "we" and "rebound" in the same sentence.

No worries, tho. In all likelyhood, we'll still be tied for first atop the SEC at day's end. Thangs ain't looking so hot vs 'Tucky right now.

fact is, we lost the game today not because of fatigue or so little time to prepare, but because of bad coaching decisions. yes, even the best coaches make bad decisions. we should have never tried to run the clock out which we did with about 5 minutes left. we should have increased the pressure and made a final push to put it away for good.

The so-called experts picked UT to finish last in the SEC too. UT will be fine vs. Kentucky, UT hasn't lost 2 in a row all year.

Kenticky(I spelled that wrong and noticed, but then it looked funny so I'll leave it) huh, that should be good. Beat the crap out of them for us and wear them down for us. It would be greatly appreciated.

i was goin back and forth over who i should root for in the game between uk and lsu. i thought i was gonna say uk cuz wed have sole possession of the conference lead but uk will be on a roll. now, with the loss, i say go lsu and stop the blue momentum since we, likely, at best would only share the title with lsu and they have the tie breaker.

Much like Arkansas, UK is gonna have a lot to be playing for on Wednesday night, as far as seeding in the SEC tourney goes with Florida.

UT should (and will) definitely be a lot fresher for that game.

I'm sure we'll do our best, thanks. I apologize for the earlier comment. I don't know if you guys noticed, but the game hasn't even started yet. I went over to Tigerforums and saw the game thread, and I mistook the predictions for the actual score and subsequently panicked. (Needless to say, more than a few LSU fans have a bad feeling about the game.) I remain optimistic, tho.

I agree about the mistake of slowing it down.... but still, does anyone else think the officiating in that game, yet again, was completely insane? Lack of calls on C.J. all game - getting hacked, all game... Major's fourth foul was HIGHLY questionable, and that was a turning point.

ummm, we lost to lsu and memphis back to back

correct. i thought their was a game between those 2.

i still dont think we lose 2 in a row to ark. and kentucky, and 3 of the last 4 to ark., kentucky, and Alabama.

We got killed in the post. The refs got crazy in the second half, but I don't think that determined the outcome. Major Wingate getting 4 fouls, 3 points and 1 rebound is what killed us.

Tennessee took way too many bad shots in the last 7 minutes. They played impatiently and they looked frustrated. I wouldn't be too worried. Lofton had a horrible game and Wingate was hurt. Take out those 2 factions and Tennessee wins easily. I expect them to play much better Wednesday.

It seemed to me that, for the first time this season... they got lazy with the lead. Up 14 /w 8 min. to go, and we LOSE? C'mon guys... you were laying into them early in the second half, and then just fell apart. They can't play like this at tourney time, they'll be gone quick.

i dont think it was the players doing that rmyess. they were holding the ball and trying to do something with 5 secs left on 3 or 4 straight possessions. if that was the case, pearl should have called a timeout and told them thats not how they play, and that they are good enough to win in a half court game.

That's part of it, I understand that... but you should still get a quality shot whether it is /w 20 seconds on the shot clock, or 5. Some of the midrange jumpers Wingate took... as well as Dane taking 3's too far behind the line... they just didn't show any intensity on the offensive end... you can't just lose that because you want to go deeper in the shot clock.

Oh, and I'll take the misspelling of my name as a typo... if you do it again it'll be personal! :biggrin2:

well, in defense of dane, they were open looks. maybe a little deep, but he hit those against uf and it was all good. gate took way too many long shots, ur correct. we should have never ran the clock down, all that did was forced us into a position that we arent comfortable in.
