"The game will be broadcast on SEC Network and will be available online through WatchESPN. Courtney Lyle (PxP), Tamika Catchings (Analyst) and Steffi Sorensen (Reporter) will describe the action for the SEC Network broadcast of Tennessee's second-round game. "

Well this was a pleasant surprise. I was hoping Catchings would call a LV game it was just a matter of when.

I'm excited to see the past meet up with the present.

Feeling kind of weird. A part of me thinks the LVs are going to win big time. The other part of me says, no.

Torn.

I just don't know which Tennessee team is going to show up game to game.

Don't mind me just the musings of a Tennessee Lady Vol fanatic. :loco:

I am quite confident that LVs top Bama, probably by double digits (10-12 pts).

But, I am not so sure about the KY game. I think they could well exit the tournament at that point.

And honestly, I don't think that would necessarily be such bad thing so they could focus, prepare, and pool their resources for the big dance.

Fans get caught up in the SEC tournament while it is happening but few really put much stock in its outcome. For example would you rather see the LVs win the SEC tournament and go out early in the NCAA or lose early in the conference and make it at least to the great 8. The relative success of their season really hinges on the NCAA.

Awesome that TC is calling today's game - I think she does a great job - a natural. I really love her commentary and the insight she brings on plays. I also understand she is a super nice person...

Why are those the only two choices? Isn't a team allowed to win the SEC regular season title, the SEC tournament, and the NCAA tournament? Wouldn't that be a better outcome than the choices you offered? Or do accomplishments and titles have to be spread around so no one suffers low self esteem? Is it like handing out participation trophies?

What???? I am so sorry you could not find a way to use the term "special snowflake" in your post...

But, let me ask you a few questions:

Have the LVs had problems with consistency this season?

Is it possible that their consistency issues may have something to do with a very short bench and the mental and physical fatigue it creates in our key players?

Do you think if the LVs made the long hard run to the SEC championship game, given the team's history this season, that it could impact their overall level of preparation, intensity, and energy as they embark on a challenging NCAA tournament as a lower seed (playing all games on the road and so on)?

My thinking is that this team is not built to excel at both the physically demanding SEC tournament and then turn around and make a Final Four run. So, no participation trophies here; you have to FREAKIN win to advance in these COMPETITIONS and I don't think the LVs are really capable of doing well in both.

If you think they can overcome these limitations, no problem, we are all conjecturing, but just say that instead of getting into a Fox Newsy moral tizzy over the dreaded "self-esteem" culture.

I was making a basketball point and you again opted to turn it into some politically tinged invective. That is on you dude. :hi:

:thud:Fire CHW and hire Catchings now!!!!! When Lady Vols basketball loses in the first round of SEC that is a total embarrassment that cannot be tolerated. Let's start a reaction by supporting firing CHW now and hiring Catchings...so she has no coaching experience??? With her resume of playing at UT under Summit and all those successful years in the NBA...who is better qualified????

Darth, it is nice to see how much joy it brings you when the LVs lose.

Yep, I expected them to play better. What a terrible person I am for having some optimism.....

But, as I also noted, I thought they were going out early-- I just expected KY to be the culprit.

The early exit is good for this team. They are going to make at least sweet 16.

PS.

I did call the MSU win but you were strangely silent on that; I guess you were just too busy with other things. Funny, how that always seems to happen to you; after LV wins you just can't make it to the board but your posting schedule always open up after losses. What an odd, odd timing coincidence.
