While we are on the List of Lists of former UT Football heros I tried to come up with players that may ormay not have been the alltime best at their position but could and often did decide the fate of a football game with one spectacular play in the forth quarter, Here is a few that I saw in my lifetime and includes both offense and defense:

1)Stanley Morgan
2)Bobby Majors
3)Reggie White
4)Eddie Brown
5)Dale Carter
6)Nilo Silvan
7)Mark Jones
8)Willie Gault
9)Shaun Summers
10)Al Wilson
11)Pearless Price
12 Condredge Holloway

Shaun Summers? Do you mean him deciding a game by getting burned for the 1,497th time?

Retuning punts. Of course the guys that have been following UT for the last few years would not know what a decent punt or kickoff was! :banghead:

Rashad Baker was overrated. He never lived up to the hype he had after his junior year. Also, he was a terrible return man. It seems like it always takes us 8 or 9 games to even figure out who a decent returner on our team is. Everybody thought it was Rashad Baker or James Banks a few years ago. They were bad, so we ended up using Mark Jones, who did well. Same thing with Hefney having to be replaced by Tinsley. Last year, Hefney got replaced again, but we never really found anyone that was adequate.

This was one area where there was a noticable drop from Majors to Fulmer. Majors always used good return men, and he coached it well. I liked some of those punt return reverses he ran. Fulmer definitely has let that area slip for a long time.

1) Manning - except for florida had other teams dominated in the 4th.
Great comeback drive against georgia. Also great comeback against auburn in the SECCG.
2) Reggie Cobb- 1200 yds and 20 Td's as Frosh for a 10-1-1 team in 1987. 225 Against Auburn as JR and one of the nations top rushers before being dismissed prior to the bama game. Will always remember his toss sweeps in the red zone.
3) Dale Carter
4) Carl Pickens
5) Al Wilson
6) Tony Robinson - Walt harris says to this day that he was the greatest qb that he has ever seen.
7) Chuck Webb- Another what if but had that 1300 yd freshman season and 250 in the Cotton bowl. Would have had the single season record had they included bowl stats into the season like they do today.
8) Tim Priest
9) Reggie White
10) Willie gault- Returned 3 kickoffs for td in a single season and was one of the fastest vols to wear a football uniform.
