ESPN currently lists Florida as a #2 seed if the tourney were today. Huh?

I mean yes its nice to be 8-0 and have some decent wins v. the 'cuse and Wake, but its sooo early and the Gators weren't even in most people's preseason brackets at all, much less a 2 seed !!!

I hate it when they do this because now, when the team dissapoints as it usually does the first weekend in March, it will be like a failure.

Florida might be the team to beat this year in the SEC. Don't psych them out! Well actually, as a UT fan, go ahead , psych them out.

LOL. Well, I have watched the Gators here and there this year and they seem to be playing very well together and very up tempo. Got the big man this year, Moss, and an inside game is a welcome addition.

I confess I have not seen one minute of UT b-ball this year. What's the prognosis?

They will be the highest rated seed in the SEC since Kentucky has lost a couple. Being the "sec champ" should probably be a 2 seed.

I can see them as a 2 seed...nothing magic about that. They are extremely well coached, recruit well, put guys in the NBA, and have played as well as anyone so far.

For the personell we have, we're going to surprise some people. What's going to hurt us is our complete lack of depth, but I think we'll win a few we aren't supposed to. They are playing as a team and everyone is playing hard. THe conditioning they went through in the offseason shows, and is paying off. I can't tell a difference between tipoff and the end of the game as far as intensity and speed goes.

I look for us to win at least 17 games this season, with a few upsets maybe bringing us around 20 at best.

With Pearl, we'll be a team that can really contend in a couple of years when we get some new personell.

From what I've seen UF is the team to beat this yr. I really didnt think they'd look this good this early or even this yr..Billy D's done a great job and this team is much more fun to watch with Peep and Walsh gone.

But yeah #2 is too high..maybe 4 or 5 like last yr. UF seems to struggle when they are in the top 10 so I'm curious to see how they respond with their first loss this yr.
:peace:

It's way too early to even talk seeding. I guess as a sportswriter, it's a slow time of year, with bowl games, the start of the NBA and NHL, the end of the NFL season, and non-conference matchups in college basketball? LOL

Like you, I reserve judgement until further games with UF...but I do think ur selling ur team short. They have a very good PG and a coach that has been deep into the tourny who knows what he's doing(most of the time)

Kentucky seems to be stinking it up this year.SEC=wide open.Tennessee, well, lets wait for the SEC games to begin.
