Florida Gators Basketball Team lost their 2nd game of the early season tonight against unranked (but 6-0) UCF by 3 pts after a number of chances to tie the game...

So much for that preseason top 10 ranking... :lolabove:

Amen to that. BUT I find it funny how all the 'Experts' picked Florida to be a juggernaut in the SEC with all of their experience and returning players... If they're so good, why the losses? UCF is good, but are they that good?

Maybe Donovan should've taken the gig with the Magic. They've been to the NBA Finals and Eastern Conference Finals the past two years. Looks like the gators couldn't even make the NIT finals....:)

Big difference between losing one in exhibition play and two in a row in the regular season. Florida = overrated.

Agree. I'm starting to forget about the Indy game. My point is yours exactly - Media hyping the Mighty Gators during the preseason when they've done NOTHING to deserve it...
Love the UNC losses too. What happened to that cocky Tarheels Fan that came on VN last year at the beginning of the season talking smack?

2 things i find amazing about that game..

1) florida loses, and it happens to be to a mediocre in-state team
2) msu transfer tom herzog is actually getting minutes for ucf and being productive with them....the only thing he offered msu his 3 years here, besides warming up the bench, was cooking a mean omelette at a local breakfast joint on campus

And didn't all the pundits pick FL to win the SEC this season (and the Vols 4th in the East)? In other words, we've got 'em right where we want 'em.

UCF has some great players. I actually hope UT doesn't have to play them any time soon. Still think we win, but they have the potential to pull the upset against big time teams this year, IMO.

Jordan Jr. is the real deal, I believe he is averaging like 80% from the free throw line, and like 50+% from the field. All the other UCF players have to know how to do is how to get him the ball. I believe he is leading their team in scoring so far this year.

YTD, UCF's performance has surprised me, but after watching them play last night, they looked very under-rated, while FL looked very over-rated.

I hope UT can sweep FL and UK this year. Pearl needs to put his foot on the backs of both Donovan's and Calipari's necks this year. That would go a long way towards shutting some of these commentators' mouths regarding the violations garbage. H*ll, look at what they have done with the Newton eligibility fiasco. Maybe if we are winning like Auburn has in football this year, the AA will accept the SEC and self-imposed penalties as enough, wishful thinking but surely winning wouldn't hurt.

Go VOLS!

I'm sure the Magic wouldn't make it to pre-season with Donovan as their head coach.

This is not even close to a Valid comparison.

Preseason - Bruce informs the opposing coaches of what offensive and defensive sets his team will be playing in order to gauge how his team will perform.

I doubt Florida did such a thing with UCF.

dont get cocky. we have not played them yet.:eek:hmy:

Not cocky for sure. Anyone can beat anyone else on any given day (remember Indianapolis). I'm just looking at it from a consistency perspective. All the pundits picked FL early on because of their returning experience. If they have so much experience, they shouldn't struggle this early on, should they?

Guys, the Indy game was an exhibition game and they didn't really play hard like they normally would. Florida is overrated (like always) and Tobias Harris makes Patric Young look like an idiot slapping his hands in an up and down motion
