Gainesville, FL
Ron Zook :bad:

Head Coach

Opening Statement

" It was good to get the first game over with. It gave us an idea of where we were at as a football team and as I said after the game I saw more good things than bad. In a first game there are always things that you that need to be corrected, but I'm proud of our guys in how they displayed a lot of poise. It's going to be very important that they keep their poise and it is something that we will continue to stress."

On the running game and its effect on the game's final outcome

"I think it definitely will. I can tell you it doesn't matter whether you're on the high school, collegiate, or professional level, the team that usually controls the running game has the opportunity to win. You have to run the football, play good defense and have a sound kicking game. There's no question that this is what this game will come down to."

Cory Bailey

Defensive Back

On away games:

"To tell you the truth, I can’t really tell you why we’ve been that good on the road. It’s just when you’re going to an unstable environment, you’ve got to be ready to play in it. We prepare well. Tennessee is going to bring their fans, so it’s going to be a ton of orange and white shirts in the stadium. We’ve got to be able to focus and play well in it. As long as we pack our defense, we will help the offense as best we can."

Travis Harris

Linebacker

On Tennessee’s two quarterbacks:

"We’re going to prepare for everything they do. I think one is more of a passer and one is more of a runner, so you have to take note of that when you’re in the game. You need to know what you’re defending against."

On UF playing well on the road:

"We just come together. When people say we can’t do it, we try and make a way to do it. It’s our whole motivation. It’s the only motivation to go to someone else’s stadium and beat them. We get jacked up about going there. It’s a loud stadium, a tough place to play and if we win there, it will be a good accomplishment for us."

Chris Leak

Quarterback

On taking hits:

"In the game, you’re going to take big hits. That’s what the defense’s job is, to get the quarterback rattled and get him thinking about those things. That’s just the nature of the game and it’s a contact sport."

On facing Tennessee for a second time:

"As far as getting a feel for what they do, I guess it helps. As far as knowing what to do and schemes and everything, it helps. But they’re going to do different things every year to mix things up. Watching film and playing them last year starts to get you ready, but you’ve got to be ready for anything."

Is that the same as a "hostile environment" or are there some earthquakes in Knoxville that I don't know about?

And that is why Brent Schaeffer will beat them. He will be able to make decisions on the run, literally.

What was the B.S. about the gator players wanting payback cause Clausen led the band for "Rocky Top", what a bunch of whiners, nothing was directed at them , just a player celebrating with the school band... build a bridge and get over it!
