Apparently, your car doesn't have to be in motion to trigger a payout for damages.

A woman filed a claim against GEICO for several million dollars in damages after getting HPV from her boyfriend during back seat intercourse. GEICO requires contested claims to go to binding Arbitration rather than court, a move that overwhelmingly favors the company. They lost.

Now, GEICO officials are claiming that the award should be voided because they did not have their day in court.

Saw that over in the pup. It's absolutely ridiculous, the trial judge, the appellate judges, the jury and the attorney that brought the suit should all be ashamed. These crazy awards by juries are driving up rates for everyone and killing the trucking industry. I'm beginning to believe juries should be done away with in civil trials involving insurance and to file suit an attorney must put up a bond equal to at least 10% of what they are asking for.

Well, that certainly expands the definition of collision insurance!

This is the most ridiculous thing that I've heard in a while, and that's remarkable in this day and age. This will obviously be overturned.

It was upheld by the MO appellate court.

My understanding is this was only possible because of previous precedence set in MO, where the driver was held liable for other non driving actions in their car to a passenger.

That has absolutely ZERO to do with it. She can sue the owner of the car. That doesn't mean that dumba$$ liberal activist judges get to expand the very nature of automobile insurance coverage.

Did you see that post a few weeks ago where the owner of a vehicle at an oil change place in MI is being sued because the tech died because the fault of a tech killing another tech because he did not know how to operate a straight shift.

Holy run on sentence..but so convoluted only way I can type it.

The problem is the scumbag lawyers that take these cases and the juries with the "screw the insurance company" mindset.

You realize the McDonald's case is totally legit and McDonald's spent tons of time and money trying to make it into a joke, right?

They deserved to lose every cent they lost, and more. Listen to your code inspectors.
