I'm probably in the minority here, but Hackman. I think he has more range. Nicholson has a distinct personality that carries over into every role. He can play a wide range of roles, but it always seems the same in a way.

Hackman is my favorite ex-Marine who became an actor. But Jack is easily the better actor, IMO.

I cannot believe it is 2 to 1 Hackman at this point. I guess I'm in the minority in this comparison.

my girlfriend's favorite movie is as good as it gets. acts like Jack should win a lifetime achievement honor just for that role. LOL

Nope. Both have won Oscars. Both have appeared in Oscar winning movies, although Hackman has appeared in more award winning movies. Hackman has made more movies too. Sorry you're wrong. You might LIKE Nicholson better, which is your perogative, but Hackman easily has the best resume
