With Tiger Woods that is. Reason given - to look more fiscally responsible to the Fed. Gov't. Is racing next?

this was a mutual deal between Tiger and GM. now that Tiger has another child on the way, he wants to be able to do more things with his family than he can now. no longer being committed to shooting commercials and helping support the brand help him do that.

GM, being in the trouble they are, obviously was looking to cut back wherever they could.

it was just one of those things that happened to work out perfectly at the right time for both sides.

I read that too, but I can't see Tiger giving up 7 mill a year too darn willingly.

he made 120 million last year between golf and endorsements. he probably won't even miss it.

He'll easily give up 7 mill a year to avoid having to participate in all the Buick events each year. It's something he's never been a big fan of.

Brian France said he had Kia and Hyundai lined up in case GM and Dodge drop out.

I heard the same thing.Michael Waltrip has expressed interest in Hyundai's ten year warranty and if a clause can be added to include damage to the car caused by walls,a deal could be reached.

Dropping manufacturer support probably wouldn't be as damning to the sport as a lot of people think. It's not like they are driving Fords, Chevys, Dodges, or Toyotas to begin with.

Does anyone really believe Tiger drove a Buick for anything other than commercials or courtesy cars?
